Capital Book Share and Turning the Page
In 2008, Turning the Page introduced a new partnership with Capital Book Share, an upstart organization that collects gently used and new books through drives in the community and shares them with teachers in under-resourced schools. Now in our third year of this partnership, the program has expanded each year so that it now reaches all seven of TTP's partner schools. With Turning the Page acting as their fiscal sponsor, the group collects a few thousand gently used children's books each semester, and then hosts a book give-away celebration at each TTP school. Teachers at TTP schools have come to love the Capital Book Share project and the amazing books that they select to take up to their classrooms!
