Principal: Mr. Richard
Patterson
Principal Patterson has the personality and experience necessary to achieve
a strong school community. He is constantly working with his staff to
create an open and welcoming environment for students and their families.
River Terrace recently opened a new library and is diligently working
to restore its Parent Resource Center; Mr. Patterson feels that all these
components are necessary when creating a well rounded school environment.
River Terrace, which has 264 students, is located off of Benning Road
in Northeast D.C. It’s student body is 100% African American. It
also has a unique single floor design which is convenient for its large
population of wheelchair bound students. 95% of River Terrace’s
student population is eligible for the free and reduced lunch program.
This is the second year that Turning the Page has worked with River Terrace.
