48th Place, NE Principal: Ms. Peggy Mussenden Principal Mussenden works with her staff to create a welcoming, safe environment for students, families, and staff. Under Principal Mussenden’s guidance, Aiton has made significant strides in reading and math. The school, which has 455 students, is located in the Lincoln Heights neighborhood in Northeast D.C. 95% of the student population is from the Lincoln Heights housing project. Aiton students are 100% African American with 94% eligible for the free and reduced lunch program.
