This school year marks the fourth year of Turning the Page’s partnership with Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary. King Elementary is a vibrant learning community. Principal Baylor has encouraged involvement with Turning the Page with wonderful results; Community Nights continually have excellent turnout and have featured student performances. King Elementary also has an excellent staff, which has led Literacy through Photography and Art of the City programs in the classrooms.

King, which has 454 students, is located in Southeast D.C. King students are 99% African American and less than 1% Caucasian, with 99% eligible for the free and reduced lunch program.
