Turning the Page's Partner Schools

Turning the Page currently partners with six public elementary schools in Washington, D.C.

Each school has helped Turning the Page write a description of the school's unique atmosphere and activities.

» Aiton Elementary
» Garfield Elementary
» Gibbs Elementary
» King Elementary
» M.C. Terrell Elementary
» River Terrace Elementary

Turning the Page selects its partner schools based on a variety of factors. Most importantly, all of our partner schools have a strong commitment to family involvement and student achievement.

Garfield Elementary students have a great time together at a Community Night sponsored by Turning the Page.

Partner schools must also demonstrate the need for Turning the Page resources. For that reason, our partner schools are all public elementary schools (non-charter), and they all receive Title I funds. These schools are in neighborhoods and at schools that have the highest rates of poverty and records of low achievement.

A Bruce-Monroe student uses leaves and paint to create a masterpiece at a summer trip to the Hirshhorn Gallery of Art, sponsored by Turning the Page.

Teachers, parents and administrators at our partner schools devote lots of time and energy to working with Turning the Page.

If your school would like to apply to partner with Turning the Page in the future, please contact Jason King or call (202) 347-9841 ext. 10.
